child abuse – High on tea

Every other day we hear news of missing ,kidnapped and abused children. No place is safe! Kasur hamara hai is an organization working towards child safety .There main goal right now is introduction of a missing child alarm system in Pakistan. Zainab bill which has to be passed in the national assembly demands registration of quick FIR in case of a missing child in addition to an effective alarm system to alert people in the surrounding.

Few days back , I was listening to a program about child abuse on AskAsma .
A lonely child, eight years of physical abuse and parents not having an inkling of what is happening.What a terrible combination of events.
The story narrated by Akram echoes in my ears since I heard it.
Not having a vague idea about the emotional trauma his child is going through,the cruel words by the father crumbles me everyday
‘ this donkey can’t do anything!’
The pain in the victim’s voice was clear.The only good thing to hear was that he was finally able to get out of this.
He was brave enough to start a new life with courage and strength. He was wise enough to share his story to spread awareness and to make parents realize their responsibilities. He was kind enough to find the courage to tell the world in order to not let this happen to others.
There is also another lesson in it. The effects of emotional trauma can never be curbed .Would this anger change the heart of those who hurt you ? Certainly not,but it will impact yours.You can not undo the things people did to you but you can make sure you wont let it happen to anyone else.
Break the chains of unkindness .Promise yourself to not let anyone else go through the same .Akram did that!.

The program also highlighted a group of civilians Kasur hamara hai working primarily on protecting our children. Currently ,their main goal is to ask our government to pass the #zainabBill which demands an alert system in case of a missing child.
